Before the consultation

You book online via Progenda, or by phone at +32 (0)470 97 60 87. You receive an email confirmation. You can cancel or reschedule online up to 24 hours in advance.

When booking, you specify the reason for the consultation (for example: STI screening, interpretation of a check-up, addiction medicine consultation). This allows the doctor to prepare for the consultation.

Waiting room of Centre Médical Martine Rixhon

Step 1 — Welcome

On your arrival, our secretary welcomes you. She registers your file (ID card, sickness fund sticker), and shows you to the waiting room. The centre is on a single level, accessible to wheelchairs.

Step 2 — Medical consultation (30 minutes)

The doctor comes to fetch you in the waiting room. The consultation lasts about 30 minutes.

The exchange focuses on the reason for your visit, your relevant medical history, your questions. The doctor takes the time. No judgment, no moral shortcuts. Medical confidentiality is strict.

Depending on the reason for the consultation, the doctor may prescribe analyses, interpret existing results, recommend a treatment or a referral.

Step 3 — Possible sampling

If the consultation concludes with a sampling (blood, local sampling for STIs), our nurse performs it immediately after the consultation, in the same building. This saves you a second trip.

Step 4 — Sending of results

Results are sent within about 5 days, securely. You decide with the doctor on the mode of transmission (to you, to your family doctor, or both).

If a result calls for an explanation, treatment or follow-up, the doctor offers you a new appointment. No important result is sent without human contact.

About confidentiality

At Centre Médical Martine Rixhon, medical confidentiality is absolute. No information is shared with a third party (employer, insurer, family, authority) without your explicit consent.

You decide with whom information is shared. Including with your family doctor.

About sensitive subjects

The centre handles consultations that may be difficult to bring up: STI screening, alcohol consumption, intimate questions. The team's practice on these subjects is daily. Nothing surprises us, nothing shocks us. The consultation is a medical space, not a tribunal.

If you still have questions
